Yosemite National Park - The essence of the park is embodied in the thunder of the upper Yosemite Falls as it plunges 1,430 feet before continuing its wild rush to the canyon floor. Established as our third national park in 1890, Yosemite boasts waterfalls, great granite domes, and superlative high mountain valleys and peaks that are world famous.

Yosemite is famous for the inspiring beauty of Yosemite Valley, with its thundering waterfalls and its great glacial story, afforded a fitting place to inaugurae the first organized guided nature walks and campfire programs in the national parks. These popular activities gave rise to the Interpretive Division of today.
