Glen
Canyon National Recreation Area
Utah - Arizona
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area - This
mile-long man made lake provides boating, fishing, and general relaxation
in a rugged area that Major John Wesley Powell explored in 1869. The side
canyons that cut back through the Colorado Plateau contain splendid panoramas
that can be seen from a boat or a lakeside campsite. One of these canyons
contains the world's largest natural bridge, Rainbow Bridge, which is
a separate national monument.
