Great Basin National Park - Leman Caves,
formerly a national monument, offers a limestone fairyland of stalactites,
stalagmites, and flowstone formations. Wheeler Peak rises 13,061 feet
above the Snake Range, making it he second highest mountain in the state.
Glaciers sculpted the mountain's rugged highlands and lake basins. Extensive
foress reach a climax with exceptional stands of the world's oldest trees,
the bristlecone pines. Great Basin, one of the newest of our national
parks, was established in 1986.
