Geology abounds here. In some areas, faulting has exposed millions of years of geologic history.There are balanced rocks, fins and pinnacles, and colors beyond your imagination that highlight and contrast the textures.

The "forces of nature" -- deposition, erosion and more -- have created the landscape of Arches National Park, which contains the greatest density of natural arches in the world.

This is red rock country, where wind and water have created more than 200 known sandstone arches of varying sizes and dimensions. Most astounding of these is the fragile-looking, ribbonlike 291-foot span of Landscape Arch. A great assemblage of towers, spires, pinnacles, and balanced rocks complete a beautiful desert landscape.
